I struggled with the contradictions, assumptions, and generalizations in this piece. “It would be better if even more people donated,” yet you haven’t donated money to charity in years. I understand your point that nonstop, one-size-fits-all requests for money can be a turnoff, but I’m not sure how you make the leap to “very few people who could take action are taking action” or “the only thing that non-profit organizations, charities and like seem interested in doing is raising money.” You effectively negate the work of every non-profit in existence, and all of the employees and volunteers who ARE taking action every day.
